About me

William Mager on set An emerging filmmaker developing creative relationships with other talented people in the British Film Industry and creating exciting new projects for theatrical, online and television.

With several award winning short films, dramas and miniseries under my belt I now have a drama series in production and a number of documentary, short and feature films in development.

Sheffield-born and London-based, I made my first film aged 14 when I set fire to a model Audi Quattro and was subsequently banned from the school film club for excessive pyromania.

After this initially rocky start, I went on to become a new media trainee at the BBC in 2000, working on a variety of BBC flagships including Top of the Pops, Entertainment News and CBBC.

William Mager on set I moved from the new media world into television and film in 2003, with roles in factual and drama television, while writing and directing numerous award-winning short films, full length documentaries and VTs for the BBC, Channel 4, the Arts Council and the UK Film Council.

I'm currently dividing my time between the day job as a producer/director at the BBC, and my long term passion for directing, writing and developing new projects.
